New to Running?
The beginners group started 16th July 2015 and has grown rapidly. Those that have turned up at 1:10 on a Thursday are of all levels and with Ravens there to help them we are confident that the ‘newbies’ will grow in confidence and ability. We do run every day from the same point north east on Tower Bridge, so feel free to join us. We are a friendly group whose passion is running and helping others combine work, family and running.. you are all welcome to join us... contact philhernon@catalinare.com for details.

Zero to 5K training plans.
 
For many who are new to running, it is often difficult to know where to start. Come and join our beginners group on a Thursday and we will happily show you the way.

Where we meet.
 
We meet every day at 1.10 at the North end of Tower Bridge (hence our name ‘Ravens') here:



We have a specific beginners group meet on a Thursday but you are welcome to join us at 1.10 on any weekday. We run on mainly off-road routes around Wapping and south of Tower Bridge.
 
Our weekly routine is broadly as follows:
 
Monday: Recovery run of approximately 6 miles south of Tower Bridge, along the river path and canals and around Southwark Park.
Tuesday: A ‘Fartlek’ session around the paths and canals of Wapping. A Fartlek session is a continuous run interspersed with timed periods of higher intensity running.
Wednesday: Either a longer run or a steady run.
Thursday: Reps along the canals of Wapping. Usually 6 x 1K running with other variations available. And our Newcomers run bespoke introductory sessions.
Friday: An easy tempo to allow runners to relax and enjoy a chat as they run.
